AAT Foundation Award in Accounting Software

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is the most highly regarded pre-chartered professional accountancy qualification in the country. This qualification is perfect for those who need to update their skills and move over to computerised accounts software.

  • What will be studied

    The course covers all day to day bookkeeping transactions.

    • Setting up customer and supplier accounts
    • Setting up general ledger account
    • Inputting opening balances in general ledger accounts
    • Inputting sales and purchase invoices and credit notes
    • Inputting receipts and payments to debtors and suppliers
    • Inputting cash and bank receipts and payments including direct debits and standing orders
    • Making entries to adjust errors
    • Bank reconciliation
  • What are the entry requirements?

    This course is suitable for the learner who has a basic knowledge of bookkeeping and is I.T. literate.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    AAT Foundation Award in Accounting Software – Level 2

  • How will this course be delivered?

    Lessons will study for three hours a week Wednesdays (18:00 – 21:00) and will be tutor led with examples and plenty of practice

     

  • How will I be assessed?

    Learners will sit a 2 hour computer based exam where their knowledge and understanding of the above content will be tested. The assessment will then be marked externally by AAT. Feedback and results will be available six weeks after taking the exam.

  • How to get a place?

    Apply online at www.kidderminster.ac.uk You will then be contacted to come in for a short interview with one of the Accounting lecturers prior to enrolment to ensure you study the correct level of qualification.

  • Other Information:

    Text books are an additional cost. Learners are responsible for registration direct with the AAT. These fees are in addition to the tuition and exam fees. Initial registration fee is payable during the first three weeks of the course and then annually thereafter. Initial AAT administration fee and AAT annual membership fee will be payable within one week of starting the course at a total cost of £43.

  • WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

    Successful candidates can move onto AAT Level 2 in either Bookkeeping or Accounting
