Brickwork Level 2

The Level 2 Brickwork qualification is ideal for those with prior experience in bricklaying or who have completed the Level 1 qualification. You will learn further skills in bricklaying, to progress on to becoming skilled in the trade.

The course covers interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures, producing joint masonry and masonry cladding, building solid walling, isolated and attached piers, and the construction of cavity walling forming masonry structures.

The course allows candidates to learn, develop and practice extended skills required for progression into employment or an apprenticeship, working towards becoming a master craftsman.

  • What will be studied

  • What are the entry requirements?

    Four GCSEs at grade 3 (formerly D), or above, or completion of the Level 1 qualification.

    The course allows candidates to learn, develop and practice extended skills required for progression into the Level 3 course, employment or an apprenticeship, working towards becoming a master craftsman.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    Brickwork Level 2

  • How will this course be delivered?

    You will spend three days a week at college, with ten days work placement.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Continuous assessment of practical and theory, with end of unit multiple-choice examinations.
