Brickwork Level 2 (17/18)

This qualifications is aimed at people wishing to learn some skills in bricklaying, to progress on to becoming skilled in their chosen trade, or to progress through an apprenticeship and work towards becoming a master craftsman. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Bricklaying. The course covers interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures, producing thin joint masonry and masonry cladding, building solid walling, isolated and attached piers and constructing cavity walling forming masonry structures.

  • What will be studied

    The course covers interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures, producing thin joint masonry and masonry cladding, building solid walling, isolated and attached piers and constructing cavity walling forming masonry structures. You’ll also study English and Math’s alongside this course if required.

  • What are the entry requirements?

    Four GCSEs, grade 3, (formerly grade D) or above. Or completion of Level 1 qualification.

  • Where does this course lead to?

    Progress to Employment in the construction industry, gain an apprenticeship or progression to Level 3.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    Level 2 City & Guilds in Brickwork

  • How will this course be delivered?

    3 days week, the course will be practical and classroom based classes, with tutorial, English and maths classes and work placement (we will help with this but the student has to obtain own work placement)

  • How will I be assessed?

    Continuous assessment of practical and theory with end of unit multiple-choice examinations.

  • How to get a place?

    Apply online, an interview will follow.

    Safety footwear is required, we will supply additional PPE
