This course will teach you skills needed for work and personal and practical skills that will increase your chances of further education and employment. The course aims to develop personal, social and practical work skills, build confidence and encourage independence.

  • What will be studied
    Course content includes developing skills in I.T, drama, cooking, outdoor activities. English will also be taught at an appropriate level to further develop your skills. Work experience will be gained via timetabled offsite activities at Brinton Park, Abberley Care Farm and various nature reserves.

    There are no formal entry requirements. Completion of an initial assessment is required to establish suitability for the course.

  • What qualifications will be gained?
    Progression routes are based on your achievement on the course and some learners progress to the next level, for example a vocational course in your preferred area of study. Diploma in Independent Living.

    2 days a week in college and 1 day practical.

    All units are assessed by portfolio and individual learning programme.
