Carpentry & Joinery Level 2

The Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery course is designed for learners progressing from the Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery course intending to pursue a career in the construction industry.

The course includes both the practical and theoretical elements needed to work within the construction industry. Practical activities and assessment typically covers the fitting of stairs, kitchens, roofs, skirting, door frames, doors, mouldings, flooring and ironmongery.

  • What are the entry requirements?

    To apply for this course you will need a Diploma in Wood Occupations, Level 1 or GCSE grades 9-4 (formerly A-C), and be genuinely interested in the carpentry industry. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.

  • Where does this course lead to?

    Upon successful completion of the course you will have the opportunity to advance to the Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery course, an apprenticeship, or progress into employment within the carpentry and joinery industry.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    Level 2 Site Carpentry.

  • How will this course be delivered?

    The course will be delivered over three days in both classroom and workshop. Practical work is carried out in a workshop environment. Theory will be delivery to bolster practical activities and will allow you to work in a healthy and safe position within the industry.

  • How will I be assessed?

    You will complete the units identified through formal assessment consisting of both on-line and paper based exams. All practical work will be assessed and graded by staff delivering the practical elements to the standards set by the awarding body.

    You will be required to supply your own suitable work clothing and safety footwear.

  • WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
