The course has been designed to continue developing the high level skills of a future Technician. The focus of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computer and Networking Technicians course is on practical aspects of IT whilst gaining good background knowledge of the theory behind security and networking. You will gain good knowledge of the practical role of the technician focusing on Troubleshooting and Repair, Installing and Upgrading software, Maintenance of a system and Project Management to completion of a full project task. You will be expected to work practically and safely but will also need to follow this with fully documented evidence of the process. As communication is vital to the role of a technician this will be developed throughout the year. As part of your personal development we will be looking at Higher Education opportunities or employment. This will include guest speakers, visits to University as well as HE days within the College. We will then help you prepare for your next steps.
