Level 1 Land Based Studies is a foundation programme aimed at individuals with a keen interest in the land-based sector and a desire to develop transferable skills to further progression and career ambitions. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your confidence, knowledge and practical skills, alongside more general skills required to gain employment or to continue in education.
You will become involved in all aspects of running a small animal enterprise working with horses and farm animals, carry out a range of horticultural tasks at a local park and also work alongside Forest Rangers at a variety of nature reserves.
No formal entry requirements. Completion of an initial assessment is required to establish suitability for the course.
Successful completion and achievement may lead to a Level 2 Diploma in Work Based Horticulture and employment.
Diploma in Work Preparation for Land Based Industries
1 day a week in college and 3 days practical.
The modules are assessed by portfolio work.
