Electrical Installation Level 1

The Level 1 Electrical Installation qualification has been designed to introduce and develop a range of basic level skills and a sound knowledge of the electro-technical industry. The course will help you to prepare to work safely within the electrical installation trade, using modern tools and equipment. It also introduces basic electrical principles and installation and testing techniques.

Candidates will have the opportunity to construct and test electrical circuits covering a range of domestic, commercial and light industrial wiring systems. Work related experience activities will take place throughout the year.

  • What are the entry requirements?

    To apply for a place on this course, you need to hold at least 3 GCSEs including English Language and Maths at Grade 3 (formerly E), or above and a positive school leaving reference.

  • Where does this course lead to?

    Successful completion of this qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to further progress your learning within the electrical industry, such as the Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation or an Electro-technical apprenticeship.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    City & Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installation (7202-01)

  • How will this course be delivered?

    The course is delivered via full time attendance of 3 days per week plus work experience.

  • How will I be assessed?

    All units will either be internally assessed throughout the course via completion of practical tasks or written assignments.

    Protective footwear must be provided by the student for the workshop sessions. You should not have any colour impairment with your vision, ideally be able to work at height and be practically minded.
