Dance Level 3 (17/18)

If you have aspirations to become a professional dancer, choreographer or teacher then this is the perfect launch pad for you. This level 3 qualification is designed to provide a high standard of technical, creative and performance training. All of our dancers become proficient in ballet, contemporary, urban, jazz and tap dance. During your studies you will work alongside our expert staff, who are outstanding practitioners who still perform professionally within the industry. We have a reputation for developing outstanding dancers who progress onto higher education dance training at the most prestigious conservatoires in the country. We currently have students in every major conservatoire in the UK including Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College, LABAN, Northern School of Ballet and LIPA.

  • What will be studied

    During your studies you will work alongside expert staff, who are outstanding practitioners working professionally within the industry. The course includes daily dance technique classes in ballet, contemporary, jazz, urban and tap, with choreography and improvisation sessions that complement the theoretical side of Dance.

  • What are the entry requirements?

    5 GCSEs at grade 4 (formerly grade C) or above, which should ideally include English and Maths, alternatively completion of a Level 2 qualification in the subject area, with an overall Merit profile. A passion for the subject and the potential to work independently and with others, is essential. You will need to attend an interview and an audition or present a portfolio of work appropriate to the subject area. During this process, individual circumstances where learners do not fully meet the entry requirements may be considered.

    Higher Education: Dance Schools, Dance Conservatoires, University.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    Level 3 RSL Diploma in Dance

  • How will this course be delivered?

    Our students study five days a week at Kidderminster College within our dance studios. Students often perform in competitions and youth dance platforms.

  • How will I be assessed?

    Assessment is continuous in class rehearsals, performance and coursework.

  • How to get a place?

    Candidates will be invited to take part in a dance technique class and are required to choreograph and perform a solo.

  • Other Information:

    Dance kit and performance clothes, recommended reading, professional dance workshops and trips to watch professional works.

  • Exam Board:

    Students have gone on to gain places at Laban, Laine Theatre Arts, Bird College, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, LIPA , The Urdang Academy and Tiffanys Theatre School.
