Electrical Installation Level 3

The Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification is designed for students to progress from the Level 2 course. The course will enable you to develop a deeper understanding of theoretical aspects and practical skills to enhance your knowledge of inspection, testing and design.

You will study further electrical principles, environmental awareness, installation, and testing and fault diagnosis, expanding your understanding of a range of domestic, commercial and light industrial installation. Work related experience activities will take place throughout the year.

  • What are the entry requirements?

    To apply for a place on this popular course, you need to hold a C&G 2365 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation and have a good level of English and mathematics. You should not have any colour impairment with your vision, and ideally be able to work at height and be practically minded.

  • Where does this course lead to?

    Successful completion of this qualification will enable you to progress on to the Level 3 apprenticeship scheme, or into employment. You may also progress on to Higher Education study.

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) C&G2365-03

  • How will this course be delivered?

    The course is delivered via full time attendance of 3 days per week, plus work experience.

  • How will I be assessed?


    All units will either be internally assessed throughout the course via completion of practical tasks and written assessments. Assessment is also via C&G - evolve online exams, and internally marked written assignments, externally moderated.
