The 90 credit Diploma is an intensive 1-year course, with the option of a 2nd year follow-on. If you love games and have often thought about how to change them to make them better, then this could be the course for you. The course is hard work (we don’t just sit around playing games), but if you are interested in games development then it doesn’t seem like hard work at all! You don’t need to have any previous experience of designing games, but you do need to be creative. You should be interested in many different genres of games and play on different platforms. We cover all aspects of games development, not just focussing or one particular discipline. By looking at all aspects of games development it gives you a real appreciation of the different elements that go into the making of a game. You’ll work individually and in teams to develop several 2D games during the first year, moving onto 3D games development in the 2nd year. During the first year you’ll also study 3D modelling, games design, games industry, digital graphics, games testing and concept art for computer games.
