Hair and Media Make-up Level 2 (17/18)

Level 2 VTCT Diploma in Hair and Make-up provides learners with all the skills to work effectively as a hair and make-up artist including the art of hairdressing, photographic make-up, applying make-up, client care, health and safety and creating an image based on a theme.

  • What will be studied
    The course covers a variety of modules including: • The Art of dressing hair • The art of photographic make-up • Nail art application • Colour and cut hair • Face and body painting • Health and Safety
  • What are the entry requirements?
    Under 19s are required to supply evidence of four GCSE’s at grade E or above (including English and three other academic subjects) and a level 1 in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy. A good standard of education is essential.
  • Where does this course lead to?
    Completion of this course will allow progression to: VTCT Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy Make-Up (QCF) VTCT Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing (QCF) VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects and Hair and Media Make-Up (QCF) VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair and Make-Up Studies (QCF Or could lead to employment as a junior Hair and Make-up Artist or Freelance Hair and Makeup Artist
  • What qualifications will be gained?
    VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up
  • How will this course be delivered?
    You will have continuous practical assessments, assignments and online examinations for each unit. Work experience is included as well as Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and / or English as required
  • How will I be assessed?
    Practical skills will be assessed through-out the course in realistic commercial settings. Underpinning knowledge of theory will be tested via on line exams and assignments.
  • How to get a place?
    Applications can be made on line and through the college. You will be required to attend an interview and meet entry requirements.
  • Other Information:
    It will be necessary to purchase a kit and uniform with shoes
