This course will provide a vocationally specific qualification that allows you to practice in a variety of Health and Social Care settings. It will equip you with a broad, transferable foundation of skills and knowledge that are relevant to many careers within Health and Social Care.

Human growth and development
Safeguarding in health and social care
Infection prevention and control in health and social care
Anatomy and physiology for health and social care
What are the entry requirements?
One of the following: Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (grade Distinction) with placement experience.
Five GCSEs grade C or above (one must be English Language)
Where does this course lead to?
Higher Education:- Adult Nursing, Social Work, Criminology, occupational therapy
Employment: Care worker, Support worker
What qualifications will be gained?
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies)
How will this course be delivered?
You will be studying in college for three days a week and attend work placement for one day a week.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through work experience and a range of methods to include assignments, portfolios and practical tasks. There are two external assessments.
Functional skills or GCSE maths and English are included in this programme where needed.
