Higher National Diploma (HND) in Urban and Electronic Music Production

This creative, practical course is run in conjunction with the University of Worcester and will develop your music production skills and expertise to industry standard. You will develop an array of music creation techniques, including studio production practices and audio manipulation plus a deep understanding of the music industry within a contemporary context. Course content includes:

-Computer Systems for Music
-MIDI and Audio Music Production
-Music Listening Skills
-Audio Production Techniques
-Creative Keyboard Techniques
-Studio Techniques and Practices
-History of Electronic Music
-Creative Synthesis
-Music for Audio-Visual Contexts
-Advanced Production Techniques
-The Music Industry and Enterepreneurship
-Creative Mixing and Mastering Techniques
-Music Production Analysis
-Final Music Project (double award) You will use Logic Pro within our iMac music production suites. Akai’s MPC range of samplers are available alongside Korg, Alesis and Focusrite. Those studying the HND will develop DJ skills using Technics 1210s turntables, Pioneer CDJs, Pioneer mixers and Serato Scratch Live. You will also have the opportunity to visit London, New York or Barcelona on one of our many trips. DID YOU KNOW? You can complete this course at Level 4 - you will achieve a Higher National Certificate (HNC), studying full-time or part-time.
