You will be on placement in a working yard two days per week and attend college one day per week. You will develop practical skills and knowledge as well as learning the theoretical aspects of horse care.
Course includes health and safety principles of feeding and watering horses, and also maths and English
There are no formal entry requirements, but you will need to have an interest in horses and working in the relevant area. You must demonstrate the ability to work at entry level 3 in English and maths. You will be invited to attend one of our taster days in March, May or June.
Apprenticeships, Level 2 Horse Care and animal care related qualifications.
Level 1 Diploma in Work Based Horse Care
1 day a week in college and 2 days practical.
The modules are assessed by portfolio work.
Appropriate clothing and footwear and fund your own travel to placement.
