MAS Records Artist Development Programme Level 3

The Level 3 MAS Records Artist Development programme is an expansion of the teaching and learning of the Level 2 course. Industry expertise is delivered by highly motivated and experienced mentors, helping you to gain a flexible, vocationally relevant suite of popular music qualifications. You will develop the skills, knowledge and attitude required to enable you to embark on a successful career within the rewarding music industry.

The MAS Records support network for the course has evolved to include promotions at SXSW, Texas (the world's largest music conference), plus visits from top music industry speakers and live events at the Birmingham O2 Academy.

The course runs during evenings and weekends at rehearsal centres across the UK, in Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Bath, Oxford and Southampton.

 

  • What will be studied

    The course is highly intensive and industry-led, including modules on composing music (collaboration), music event organisation, music marketing, live sound recording, music rehearsal skills, live music performance, recorded music performance, and instrumental study.

  • What are the entry requirements?

    GCSE English and GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above (formerly C).

    Candidates of all calibres, mature learners and those with substantial supporting evidence of experience will be considered. Candidates must be part of a band.

  • Where does this course lead to?

    Further education opportunities include HND in Music Industry Management, or a BA (Hons) in Music Industry Management. Employment opportunities include Artist Managers, Events Promotors and Music Performers.

    RSL Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma for Music Practitioners – Performing

  • How will this course be delivered?

    The course runs during evenings and weekends at rehearsal centres across the UK, in Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Bath, Oxford and Southampton.

  • How will I be assessed?

    There is a high emphasis on practical work. A large number of the units are assessed practically.
