On this course you will learn all about working in the media industry by making digital media and print products of your own. You will be able to choose from a variety of options including short films, TV chat shows, advertising campaigns and more.
You will learn the practical skills needed in video making, sound editing, photo-imaging and digital print production. You will also learn how to carry out research and write reports.
4 GCSE’s at grade 3 (formally grade D) or above, which should ideally include English and/or Mathematics. Alternatively you should have successfully completed a level 1 programme in the subject area. Mature learners will be considered on an individual basis. A passion for the subject and the ability to work well with others is essential.
You will need to attend an interview and an audition or present a portfolio of work as appropriate to the subject area. During this process individual circumstances where learners do not fully meet the entry requirements may be considered.
After successfully completing this course you will be able to progress to our Level 3 Media Production course or to a Level 2 Apprenticeship
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production
You will study at college four days a week and will be involved in practical production projects with some supervised location visits.
The majority of your work is internally assessed and verified project work with formal deadlines. There are also two, one hour exams set and marked by the exam board.
