Technology, Computing and E-systems Level 3 (17/18)

The course has been designed to develop a range of high level creative skills giving a good knowledge of a variety of different techniques and software. The focus of the Level 3 Diploma in Technology Computing and E-systems is on creativity including Digital Graphics, Animation and 3D Modelling. Alongside this there are also mandatory units on Communication and Employability Skills for IT, Computer Systems and Information Systems. This gives you the opportunity to develop your personal skills, look at how computers work and how these can be used by business to achieve their targets. You will be expected generate ideas and bring them to fruition fully documenting the process. Be prepared to develop your communication skills in a variety of ways.

  • What will be studied
    You will be studying a 9 units over 1 academic year to obtain the 90 Credit Diploma focusing on the practical side of the IT industry. In addition to the units mentioned above you will also be studying: HCI Spreadsheet Modelling Digital Graphics Animation 3D modelling Managing Networks Maths and English can also be studied alongside the main programme.
  • What are the entry requirements?
    To apply for a place on this popular course, you need to hold at least 4 GCSEs including English Language and Maths at Grade ‘C’. You should be able to work in a team and work independently. An interview is required as well as a suitable reference.
  • Where does this course lead to?
    Level 3 Extended Diploma in Technology, Computing and E-systems You will need to pass the first year of the course to progress onto the second year.
  • What qualifications will be gained?
    At the end of the 1 year programme, you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in IT (90 Credit)
  • How will this course be delivered?
    The course is delivered through different tasks, which you work through. You will be taught through presentations, practical demonstrations, 1:1 support and tutorials.
  • How will I be assessed?
    Assessment is via practical assignments, course work, presentations and class work in each unit. You will be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction on successful completion of each unit.
