Level 3 Games Design students have been busy designing games for Weavers’ Cottages. The students designed and built computer games with a weaving theme, linked to the local history of Kidderminster town. The games were developed for primary school aged children.
Weavers’ Cottages, which were under threat of demolition are the only remaining mid-18th century weavers cottages in the West Midlands, and tell a story of the beginnings of the weaving industry in Kidderminster – a town built on the trade in cloth and carpets.
The video on the Weavers’ Cottages website shows college students and Games Design lecturer, Steve Rich describing some of the processes involved in the development of games. Visit the website for more information and to play the games, including Run of the Mill and Spin the Wheel!
