Here at Kidderminster learners gain experience within the hair and media make-up training to a high standard and gaining realistic experience within the theatrical and media industry. On the course learners gain enrichment activities by working with Kidderminster Fire Service recreating accident scenes and our own Performing Art department here at the college. The skills gained allows them to progress towards working in a diverse industry, ranging from fashion and beauty to theatre and special effects.

Level 2 Hair and Media make-up would allow leaners to set up as freelance bridal hair and make-up artists, face painters for events and it also includes nail art. Other areas could be make-up consultants for cosmetic brands. It would also allow progression onto the level 3 course and would allow learners to work as make-up artist’s with in the theatre, film or photographic studios. It covers some prosthetic and special effects work, airbrushing and wig or postiche work. It also covers camouflage makeup where learners could go on to work in hospitals or for dermatologists.
