FE Bursary Fund Application Form

Please complete all required sections of the form. You may be required to present evidence backing up the information that you provide and the College may need to scan or take copies of the originals. This is for auditing purposes and is a Government requirement. This will be retained for a maximum of 6 years plus the current year – after which it will be destroyed responsibly. If you do not wish this to happen then we will be unable to process your application.

Please note that if your circumstances change throughout the year you can submit a new application and this will be considered in line with your new circumstances. Allocations are made on a first come first served basis.

You will not receive bursary funding until you have enrolled at the college. Should you withdraw from your course, your payments will stop.

Applications received by 30th September guarantee full allocation assuming sufficient funds. Applications received after this date will be paid according to funds remaining. Payment will be made on the next available payment run.

  • I declare that the information that I have given on this form is correct and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that giving false information will automatically disqualify my application and may also lead to disciplinary procedures resulting in possible expulsion from the College and I undertake to repay any grants obtained by me as a result of this false claim. The college has the right to refer such matters to the police or Department for Education.
  • A member of my household is aware that if I am on DLA, ESA or Universal Credits certain household benefits may be affected (for applicants aged 18 or below). I understand that it is my responsibility to notify the Department of Work and Pensions of any Bursary award I am allocated.
  • I understand that I must be enrolled and active on a course to receive Bursary funding and that the funding will stop should I withdraw from my course.
  • I understand that information gathered as part of my Bursary application may be shared with other departments within the Newcastle College Group.
  • I consent for Newcastle College Group to retain my bursary evidence for 6 years plus current year. I am clear that any payments I receive are to provide me with means to remain in education and are to be used for items such as: childcare, equipment, travel costs
  • I understand that Newcastle College Group can review or alter my award at any time and that in-year changes can be made to my allocation.
  • I have the legal right to be resident in the UK (habitually, normally and lawfully resident in the country, has refugee status, humanitarian protection or exceptional leave to enter or remain in the UK).
  • I understand that I may be liable to repay the grant if I leave the course.
  • I accept that payments will be made on the basis of academic achievement, at least 91% attendance and appropriate standards of behaviour.
