Ellie Williams [Early Years]

The Interview

Hi Ellie, tell us what course you studied, your end point and your work experience.

I completed the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) from September 2015 – June 2017.  Over the last six years, I have predominately taught in reception in a variety of local schools, as well as gaining experience supporting and teaching in Y2, Y3 and Y4.  For my end point, I have secured my first teaching position in a local primary school.

What skills have you gained from the course
Tell us about your progression into employment, and progression within employment

With a strong desire to pursue a career in the Early Years Sector, I completed the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) at Kidderminster College. After, I studied for a BA(Hons) in Early Childhood (Professional Practice) at the University of Worcester. Both of these courses have supported me to complete a PGCE in Primary Education with QTS at Stourport SCITT and secure employment as an EYFS teacher, starting September 2021.

I feel very fortunate to have experienced a wealth of placement opportunities during my studies. This has given me a strong foundation to build upon in my teacher training and NQT years, thus enabling me to become a competent and enthusiastic Early Years Teacher. The courses have significantly prepared me for a range of different scenarios that I may experience in my career and I look forward to beginning my teaching position at a local primary school. In the future, I would like to complete a Masters in Early Years and develop into a leadership role within a school.
