Brickwork – Level 2

Our Level 2 Brickwork Diploma takes it up a notch: equipping you with more advanced, complex techniques and theoretical know-how. From interpreting working drawings to utilising brickwork and blockwork with steel lintels, the second tier of this practical course is designed to extensively develop both your knowledge and confidence when it comes to the skill set needed for your future career.

Working on-site at our fully kitted out Construction and Automotive Green Technology Centre, you will gain a wealth of hands-on experience with the help of our industry-specialised tutors.

    • Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers
    • Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures

  • What qualifications will be gained?

    Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 2 City & Guilds Diploma in Brickwork.

    The study programme is 13 hours a week and includes a 60-hour mandatory work placement.

    You will be based at the Construction and Automotive Green Technology Centre.

    Work experience opportunities:

    Thoughout the year, we will be visiting different buildings of interest and the brick factory to see how bricks are made. This will include guest speakers coming in and talking about the industry.

    English and Maths:

    English will be embedded throughout the year to enable you to have a better understanding of the terminology used.

    Maths will be embedded for example to help you price the materials required for a dimension of a wall.

     

    All Brickwork students will need to bring:

    • Safety footwear
    • 3m tape measure
    • We will supply additional PPE
    • Overalls and steel-toe cap boots will be required for the practical elements

  • WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
    • Upon successful completion of this course, you could progress onto our Level 3 Brickwork Diploma.
